February and March

This is what I painted in February and March. Unfortunately I didn't really have much time for painting but here they are: an Otherworld assasin, citadel orc and my metal magic necromancer conversion. I'm really happy with how the shield on the orc turned out, much better than my previous attempt. Just need to get hold of more of these plastic old school shields!

The necromancer mini is quite crude, so I just did a quick tinting, wash and highlight on that one. The Otherworld assasin got quite a bit of attention, and I added some stubble as stonecoldlead did on his. The orc was painted using spooktalkers orc skin recipe, that P3 Necrotite Green fits like a charm.

Next up on the workbench are these three, lets hope I can finish them before the end of April.

What I painted in 2013

I'm a terribly slow painter. But somehow I still managed to paint some lead last year. Hopefully I'll get some more painted this year, but painting slow and taking my time has really improved my painting. My two warbands are nearly finished now, the shadow warrior still need a decent mage (should have gotten the Mordheim elf mage before GW pulled the plug on Specialist Games) and the Undead could use some more zombies and ghould. The dregs are in the painting queue, they should be finished in 2014 at least!

The group shot.

Workbench shot

I have been away and haven't have had so much painting time lately but here is quick snapshot of my workbench. The wyrdstone counters are done, really happy with how they turned out. The skeleton is almost finished, just got the base and some minor touch ups left, same with the dire wolf. I have to say the Otherworld minis are really fun to paint, brilliant quality and I'll definitely be buying more lead from Otherworld in the future!
I'm not entirely happy with the bone on the skeleton, but I have just placed an order on some W&N inks that I'll be experimenting with on the other two. Also as per Stonecoldlead's instructions I need to get hold of some VMC "greys", medium, stone and silver grey.
